Nurse Practitioners
The nurse practitioners deal with minor illness and chronic disease. A
leaflet explaining the Nurse Practitioner Service is available from
reception.

Practice
Nurses
All of our practice nurses are trained to help deal with a variety of
problems by appointment each weekday. Their duties include Asthma, Diabetes
and Coronary Heart Disease, Travel and Well Baby Clinics, Smoking Cessation
advice, Family Planning, injections, cervical cytology, ear syringing,
telephone advice and general health promotion activities.

Health Care Assistants
The Health Care Assistants are trained to undertake blood pressure
checks, new patient health checks, weight checks and ECGs. Your doctor
or nurse
will refer you to the Health Care Assistant as appropriate.
